In the heart of the city of Salta, is the building where the Royal Treasury of the Intendancy of Salta del Tucumán operated towards the end of the 18th century, and where Martín Miguel de Güemes lived with his family. It was declared a National Historical Monument in 1971 by Decree N° 4,114. It was acquired in 2010 by the Government of the Province of Salta, after which a restoration and reconstruction process began to recover the property. The house is one of the few exponents of architecture from the colonial period that remains in the country, and the only real estate testimony in the City of Salta referring to General Martín Miguel de Güemes.
